&lt;p&gt;I&#039;ve actually noticed that a percentage of clients don&#039;t always adhere to these rules.  During large client deployments I&#039;ve seen situations occur where users with Enhanced Presence can STILL sign-in to LCS servers using the OC 2005 client, and do so for days (eliminating AD replication convergence as a possible culprit).  I&#039;ve never been able to locate a reason why some client still worked and others immediately failed to connect to LCS as documented.&lt;/p&gt;
