Martin, I ended up having to delete GalContacts.db one last time before it would download successfully. I know that wasn't the answer you were hoping for, but maybe you'll have better luck.

Ricardo,
My last post aimed at if Tom had any news on the C-issue and if had managed to figure out:
"I’ll find out today whether this actually fixes the downloads without having to clear out the GalContacts.db file on each client."

Tom?

Martin: dont expect any official response from MS: they dont read this blog :)

anyway, frequently I can only rely on guides, that is written by other admins, simply because MS has only bullsh*it generator written docs, and only colleagues on the big internet know what is really important to write about.

Finally!! This is the exact same problem I'm experiencing in my customer's environment! Thank you!

Did you find out whether you had to manually delete the GAL-files? As far as I tested, the GalUseCompactDeltaFile regkey didn't help on an existing GAL (still observed fetching of C-files in the IIS logs).

Totally agree when it comes to the documentation.. I think I used 3-4 days to debug why my internal ABS didn't work over HTTP, before I got a tip to set the Voice SIP-security setting to Low. It makes sense now, but why MS hadn't documented somewhere in the ABS technical drilldown (for example) that this obscure setting affected how MOC fetches the GAL - is more than I can understand...

I agree with you, there are tons of pages of "documentation" but OCS is still full of undocumented features and mechanisms.

Sometimes it seems to me that several specific difficult-to-trace, hard-to-understand and impossible-to-solve problems are suddenly disapperaing, similar to "X-files".
